Ret Racks with two-paddle version has one paddle with plus lenses and the other for minus. Optics on both are 0.5, 1.0, 1.5. 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 8.0, and 12.

This two-paddle version has one paddle with plus lenses and the other for minus.  Each can be identified in the dark with fingertips alone. High refractive errors can be identified with 8.0 and 12.0 lenses in each, while half-diopter lenses from 0.5 to 7.0 increase accuracy in lower refractive states. Lenses are 16 mm diameter, recessed to help prevent scratching and increase durability. Includes 180 axis compass printed directly along the top of each paddle to enhance the accuracy in astigmatism orientation.

Examining infants, children, and individuals who cannot be subjectively refracted or sit behind the phoropter requires patience, efficiency, and skill. The objective determination of refractive error is an art that also requires the right equipment. When seconds count and accuracy matters, retinoscopy paddles are often critical to the visual well-being of your patients. Quick and efficient near test for Near Heterophoria horizontal and vertical deviations plus Cydophoria or Cylclodeviation.

Finely striated, clear lenses used for evaluating retinal correspondence in patients with eye deviations. Consists of 2 circular lenses, indexed and mounted in 38mm trial lens metal rings with tabs for use by the examiner. Used in the analysis of anomalous correspondence, suppression etc. In testing suppression, the lenses are placed in a trial frame with the striations at an angle of 135 degree and 45 degree for each eye respectively.

Then with a spotlight stimulus, such as a penlight or transilluminator, a patient with no suppression will see two diagonal lines crossing above, below or at the light source. This can be accomplished at near or far distance. If suppression is present, all or part of one line will not be seen. If the diagonal lines cross at the source when the cover test indicated an ocular deviation, the patient has harmonious, abnormal retinal correspondence. Sold as a pair.

The Neutral Density Filter Bar allows to easily measure afferent pupillary defects (APD) also called “diminished pupil reaction to light levels”.
Provides the filter values: 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5, 1.8 Density Log Units.

This instrument is used for precise exophthalmos measurements (e.g. exophthalmic goiter). The basis of the measurement for exophthalmos determination using the Hertel version is the outer orbital rim (orbital wall) and the apex of the cornea. The integral refraction mirrors with millimeter scales for the left-hand and right-hand measuring halves of the exophthalmometer are calibrated so that the zero mark on the scale will be located in the plane of the resting points of the supports. For exophthalmos measurements the supports are placed against the two temporal orbital walls so that the orbital rim contacts the deepest point of the supports.

Comes with protective metal storage case.

Bar consists of bar of optical filters of progressive density and provides a graduated system of dissociation. Useful to reinforce weak fusional status.

Suppression is not equally deep in all patients. To make a patient aware of the images perceived by the deviated eye, one must reduce the retinal illuminance in the fixating eye until the patient sees double. This is best done with a series of red filters of increasing density in the form of a ladder. The patient fixates a small light source, and the filters are placed in front of the fixating eye. Some patients see double with a light density filter; others require a heavier-density filter before they recognize their diplopia. The lighter the density of the filter needed to produce diplopia the more superficial is the suppression indicating an increased risk of diplopia. In individuals with normal fusion, placing graduated neutral-density filters in front of either eye will, at a certain density level, prevent fusion and induce two lights either together (orthophoria) or apart from each other (diplopia with heterophoria).

If one examines the visual field of a patient with heterophoria by placing a red filter in front of the habitually fixating eye while the patient is looking at a small light source, number of different responses can be elicited.

The patient may report that two lights are seen, a red one and a white one.

In esotropia the images appear in homonymous (uncrossed) diplopia, with the red light to the right of the white one when the red filter is in front of the right eye. In exotropia the images appear in heteronymous (crossed) diplopia, with the red light to the left of the white light when the red filter is in front of the right eye. This represents NRC.

The patient may report that only one pinkish light in the position of the white fixation light is seen i.e. the red and white images appear to be superimposed. This is clearly an abnormal response in presence of heterophoria. This is termed Harmonious ARC.

The patient may report that two lights in uncrossed or crossed diplopia are seen, depending upon the direction of deviation but the measured distance between the double images proves to be smaller than expected from the magnitude of deviation. This represents unharmonious ARC.

Suppression is said to occur when the patient reports only a single light (usually the white light) but occasionally red depending upon the density of the red filter and the degree of the dominance of the fellow eye.Bar provides 16 levels of Bagolini filtering 23 mm square each. It uses the Bagolini red filter color.
